CONDEMNING THE RAPE AND MURDER OF CHABI MAHATO

2nd September 2011 AIDWA condemns the horrifying and brutal gang rape and murder of Chabi Mahato, in Salbani village of East Midnapore district, W. Bengal, by Maoists and members of the PCPA. This woman from a poor household who had lost her husband 7 years ago was an anganwadi worker, a member of AIDWA, and a CPI(M) supporter who had refused to join a PCPA procession before the recent Lalgarh rally. ON VIOLENCE AGAINST ADIVASI GIRL IN BIRBHUM, WEST BENGAL

11th August 2010 AIDWA expresses its shock over the horrific incident in which an Adivasi girl  from Bartola village, P.S Rampurhat, district Birbhum in West Bengal was beaten and paraded naked in her own and neighbouring villages. 7th October 2010 AIDWA expresses concern over the Supreme Court verdict commuting the death sentence of Santosh Singh to life sentence in the Priyadarshini Mattoo rape and murder case, while upholding that the accused is guilty of the crime.
