JOINT MEMO TO PM ON RESERVATION BILL

A delegation of representatives from women’s organizations met the Prime Minister today to demand that the Women’s Reservation Bill should be enacted immediately. A memorandum was submitted to him in this regard. The PM assured the delegation that he would do his best to move the legislation forward in the next session of Parliament, and would convene a meeting of the coalition partners to discuss the matter. Women’s organizations have called for a widespread movement across the country, culminating in Delhi during the next session of Parliament to ensure that the promise made by the UPA Government in the CMP is fulfilled.
