AIDWA Congratulates the farmers of India for this historic victory

23 Nov 2021
Previous Next

What

AIDWA congratulates the Kisan movement and the Samyukt Kisan Morcha for their success in forcing Modi to announce the withdrawal of the three black farm acts after more than a year of courageous and patient struggle and the sacrifice of many lives. AIDWA also congratulates the thousands of women farmers who courageously fought shoulder to shoulder in this historic struggle. We support their resolve not to forget the brutal attacks on their comrades at Lakshmipur Kheri and elsewhere on which the PM is completely silent. We think they are right in pointing out that the PM's statement is only a partial concession and omits their demands for MSP and the withdrawal of the Electricity Act. AIDWA reiterates it's commitment to be with the kisan movement whatever it's well-thought decisions on the present situation may be and uphold in particular the demands of women in agriculture against corporate powers and patriarchy as we have done in the past years.
