The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) expresses strong displeasure against the demeaning and sexist statements made by the Kerala Pradesh Congress President Mullappalli Ramchandran against Shailaja Teacher whose valiant efforts during Nipah as well as the Covid pandemic are well recognized.
While it is acknowledged without doubt that the frontline warriors in the battle against any health emergency situation, including the current pandemic are the doctors, nurses, para-medical staff and health workers, the leadership given by government cannot be underestimated. The LDF Kerala state government’s exemplary preparations to handle the pandemic crisis and timely relief efforts for all Keralites as well as the migrant labour deserves the highest praise. Chief Minister PinarayiVijayan and his team which includes Health Minister Shailaja Teacher has earned national as well as international appreciation and the “Kerala Model” has been lauded by the WHO.
AIDWA demands an apology from the State Congress chief for his uncalled for remarks. AIDWA also demands the unequivocal withdrawal of his narrow minded and petty remarks.
