What

The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), the largest women’s organisation in the country, has been in the forefront organising women and spearheading their struggles for equal rights. It has a membership of ten million women in twenty-six states and majority of them belong socially and economically marginalised sections. Since its inception in 1981, the organisation fought for women’s equal rights to food, work, education, health, a safe environment, etc. It has also stood in defence of constitutional, democratic and secular values, and against communal, caste and politics of hatred. However, under the BJP-RSS regime since 2014, the women of the country are facing attacks on their right to life, liberty and livelihood. The actions of the Union government, are not only reversing the gains achieved by the women’s movement, but also attacking the constitutional rights of women, many of which are the fruit of long years of struggle.

Hence, the AIDWA has been part of the larger democratic movement, to mobilise women and oppose the authoritarian measures of the BJP-RSS regime. Like all democratically minded citizens it has been advocating that the ouster of this government in the upcoming elections of 2024, is essential for safeguarding women’s human rights, the unity and integrity of the country and the basic structure of the Indian Constitution. In order to further this campaign, we are holding a “BJP-RSS HATAO, MAHILA BACHAO, DESH BACHAO” National Rally on 5 October 2023 in Delhi. We expect a participation of at least 5000 – 8000 women from nearly 25 states.

You will appreciate that organising such a major National Rally will require funds. We are a non-funded organisation. As a policy we do not take funds from the Government, any foreign agencies or corporate houses. We organise mass fund collection programmes in which we collect donations from the people. We also approach our friends and supporters for funds from time to time.

In these challenging times when women’s and people's rights are increasingly under attack, let us all come together to make this National Rally a grand success! We are sure that you will not only make a generous financial contribution to our work but will also become part of it.

Our Bank Account Details are as Follows:-  Name: All India Democratic Women’s Association; Bank: Indian Bank; Branch: Parliament Street; Account No. 20032039453; IFSC: IDIB000P582
