AIDWA mourns the passing away after some months of illness of our dear Comrade Madhuri Barman (72), who had served our Assam State unit both as Secretary and President and had been for a long time the member of our CEC. She had been of late the vice president of the Assam state unit and had steered the organisation even in difficult times until incapacitated by her illness. She was a member of the state committee of CPIM in Assam, but had been released of her responsibility on her own request at the recently held state conference of the party. A soft-spoken and mild-tempered person nonetheless her extraordinary commitment and grit were evident in the leadership she gave to our state unit. We express our deepest sympathies with her partner in life Comrade Uddhab Barman and dip the red banner in acknowledgement of her great contribution to our organisation.
