The All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) strongly condemns the cowardly attack on AIDWA CEC member from Maharashtra, Sunita Shingda, and her family members by BJP goons late in the night yesterday after the Karajgaon gram panchayat results were declared.
Sunita is from Karajgaon village and is the elected Chairperson of the Talasari Tehsil Panchayat Samiti.
Hundreds of people from Karajgaon village surrounded the police station in the dead of night and forced the police to take action against the dastardly attack by BJP goons.
In the gram panchayat elections held on 5 November in some of the villages in Talasari and Dahanu tehsils, the BJP was resoundingly defeated and the CPI(M) panels were elected in many villages including Karajgaon village in Talasari and Dahanu tehsils of Thane-Palghar district. AIDWA activist Sangeeta Dhodade is elected as the Village Sarpanch.
AIDWA state vice president and former CEC member Lahani Dauda, and Darshana Bodhale, Nirmala Farale, Ranjana Choudhary and Shelu Dumada, all AIDWA leaders, have been elected Sarpanches of their respective gram panchayats.
