The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) is shocked at the threat of gang rape to the renowned poet in West Bengal, Mandakranta Sen, who protested against the police FIR and non-bailable charge against another poet, Srijato.

Srijato had protested against the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's associate’s earlier atrocious statement made in his presence, of raping Muslim women from the grave. RSS activists lodged a complaint against him. This was protested by Mandakranta Sen, other poets, cultural intelligentsia and many others. Mandakranta Sen was among those who led the protest.

In its arrogant style, RSS activists started giving threats of gang rape to Mandakranta. When she tried to lodge a complaint against these threats, the police did not take any cognizance of it. By not willing to take action against the RSS goons, the police have exposed their tacit support to these elements. AIDWA strongly condemns this threat and demands immediate action against the culprits.
