AIDWA expresses its heartfelt condolence at the death of Com. Samar Mukherjee, one of the senior most leaders of the left movement in our country. He dedicated himself to the communist movement, and worked to realize its ideals right through a long lifespan of 100 years. He played an active role in the freedom movement. Later, he contributed to the democratic movement as an able Parliamentarian, and was a reputed leader of the Trade Union front, and of the CPI (M).

His commitment to taking up gender issues was noteworthy. He was keen that women should build up their organizational strength, and would extend his quiet support for their activities. His gentle and open nature endeared him to all who came in touch with him.

AIDWA dips its banner in salute to this fighter for the rights of the working people. We pledge to carry forward his communist ideals, and build a world without exploitation and injustice.
