The Corona virus has claimed one more of our beloved comrades. Com Ranjana Nirula is no more. A life spanning more thanfifty years in the movement has come to an end.
The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) expresses deep condolences on her sad demise. She was one of the founding leaders of AIDWA in Delhi and a member of the AIDWA Central Executive Committee for many years.In this capacity she had a valuable contribution to the formation and growth of AIDWA in its crucial early years.
She was also a working committee member and former Treasurer of the CITU. She was the convenor of the All India Coordination Committee of ASHA Workers and played a major role in organizing ASHA workers across the country.
Com Ranjana was the Working Editor of The Voice of the Working Womansince 1998 till now. This journal was first published in 1980 with Com Vimal Ranadive as its founder editor. The journal was brought out by the Coordination Committee of Working Women, which was set up in 1979 as a sub-committee of CITU.
Com Ranjana has guided many activists in the movement. She was very affectionate and always reached out to people whenever they needed help. Her always smiling face, warmth, enthusiasmand determination will be missed by all of us.
