40 Years of AIDWA: Continuing the Battle for Equal Rights for Women Today

20 Jul 2021

March 12 marks the completion of the 40th year since the formation of AIDWA. The organisation has fought numerous battles for the rights of women and their emancipation. And yet, we see today that the regressive notions of patriarchy that we have been struggling against remain very much prevalent, even in the highest corridors of the judiciary. The recent comments made by CJI SA Bobde trivialising sexual violence and the trauma of survivors reinforces the need for continuing our struggles. Supreme Court advocate Kirti Singh, Vice-President of AIDWA, talks on the fight for equal rights today.
