AIDWA strongly condemns the absolutely shocking, outrageous, racist and anti-women statements that have been made by elected representatives, including those by members of the ruling BJP. A Central Cabinet Minister’s comments on the skin color of Congress President also reflects a deep-seated racist mindset against persons of colour.

  • AIDWA calls for comprehensive approach to Women’s Safety through Rail Budget
    26 Feb 2015

The AIDWA believes that although the Rail Budget placed in Parliament today mentions the issue of women’s safety, the issue cannot be reduced to only one of enhanced surveillance and technological solutions (such as CCTVs and Mobile Apps). The real experience of women on trains is that the GRP and railway administration is insufficient and insensitive to their complaints.

    25 Feb 2015
