The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the All India Democratic Women’s Association(AIDWA) met at the EMS Academy, Thiruvavathapuram in Kerala on 29-30 March 2015. The meeting, attended by 61 Members from 18 States was presided over by its President Malini Bhattacharya.

All India Democratic Women’s Association demanded that police should register cases against the Congress leaders who made sexist and abusive comments about the LDF women MLAs, relating to their behavior in the incidents in the Kerala Assembly on the budget day. Government has not taken any action based on the complaints given by the women MLAs even after one week.

The AIDWA believes that although the Rail Budget placed in Parliament today mentions the issue of women’s safety, the issue cannot be reduced to only one of enhanced surveillance and technological solutions (such as CCTVs and Mobile Apps). The real experience of women on trains is that the GRP and railway administration is insufficient and insensitive to their complaints.
