In Delhi too, the organisation is actively participating in the solidarity actions right through. AIDWA activists have been regularly visiting the protesting farmers on the Tikri and Singhu (Delhi-Haryana) borders.

We, the undersigned national women’s organisations are deeply concerned about the adverse impact of your policies and the recent three anti-farmer laws passed by your government on women in the rural sector. Women, even though not recognised as farmers, are equally engaged in agricultural operations. A large number of women still remain as “invisible contributors”. The role of women in the agricultural sector cannot be ignored as they comprise 33% of the agriculture labour force and 48% of the self-employed farmers.
AIDWA's statement on SC Ruling in Hitesh Verma

The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) expresses deep concern over the SC ruling in Hitesh Verma’s case in which the provision of the SC and ST (Protection of Atrocities) Act, 1989 has been quashed on the grounds that the casteist abuse and slur happened within the four walls of a dwelling. Thisjudgment followed an earlier 2008 SC ruling in Swaran Singh’s case. According to Section 3(1)(r) of the Act, anyone who ‘intentionally insults or intimidates’ with ‘intent to humiliate’ an SC/ST person in any place within public view commits an offence.

The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) condemns the recent attacks on the editor of the Kashmir Times, AnuradhaBhasin, in Jammu who has been outspoken in her criticism of the Government of India’s attacks on the rights of the people of J&K inflicted on Aug 5, 2019. Not only did she speak up against these but she also went to the Supreme Court in August itself against the complete ban on communication imposed by the Government. In the last 3 weeks, she has been forcibly evicted from her Government allotted residence and her newspaper office has been locked.
AIDWA Statement regarding objectional statements of Rekha Sharma

The All India Democratic Women’s Association is shocked at the highly objectionable and blatantly communal statements made by Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW), when she met the Maharashtra Governor on October 20, 2020. Media reports suggest that Sharma had discussed the problem of inter-religious marriages and rising instances of “love jihad” in Maharashtra. The Chairperson has made extremely misogynistic statements in the past too. It is shameful that such a person heads the National Commission for Women when crimes against women are on a rise in India.

AIDWA Statement on Hathras rape case

AIDWA is deeply concerned about the report in the Hindu today that the CBI has removed
the FIR in the Hathras case from its website.The earlier website had displayed the FIR by the
Noida Branch stating that an FIR had been registered under S376D and Sections 302 etc for
gang rape and murder. Now the FIR seems to have been deleted. The website now shows that
the CBI will conduct its investigation on the basis of the FIR lodged in the Hathras police station
which does not include rape and murder.
